Pediatric Cleaning

Dr. Barlow provides comprehensive dental care so that children can have excellent oral health. With ongoing, regular appointments, we can identify and treat infections early so that your child can avoid discomfort or premature tooth loss. We understand how important good health is for your child we'll do our best to make that a reality.

Dr. Barlow and his team are passionate about helping families throughout the Magic Valley maintain healthy smiles. We recommend that teeth cleanings and exams start from a very young age to ensure that baby teeth grow in properly and stay healthy until the adult teeth are ready to come in. People may not realize how important healthy baby teeth are, but children can get cavities and gum disease just like adults do. We recommend parents bring their children in for dental cleanings and examinations at least twice a year. This way, we can remove harmful plaque and bacteria in order to prevent cavities. While cleaning children’s teeth, our staff will be sure to practice gentle dentistry and use language your child can understand. By building a rapport with our young patients, we hope to instill in them a lifelong commitment to oral health. Call our office today to schedule an appointment for your child’s next dental cleaning!

Dental Anxiety

Dental anxiety is a common but often overlooked problem. It's estimated that 40 million Americans suffer from dental anxiety, making it one of the most common mental health conditions. Dental anxiety can range from mild unease to severe fear, and it can lead to people avoiding or delaying dental treatment. If left untreated, dental anxiety can progress into dental phobia, which is an intense fear of dental care. We understand the challenges that dental anxiety can pose, and we're here to help. We'll work with you to ease your fears and make your next appointment as comfortable as possible.

Teeth Whitening

As people age, it is common for teeth to become dull and yellow. This is in part due to age itself and also due to what a person eats and drinks. Coffee, tea, and wine, for example, can stain your teeth, along with smoking or eating foods with food coloring. Regular brushing and flossing can help to prevent stains but is often not enough. Fortunately, stained and yellow teeth don’t have to stay that way. Ask about our whitening options for that bright smile!

Crowns are coverings used to restore a tooth that has been compromised by large fillings, cracks, fractures, or decay. They can help relieve pain and improve the function and appearance of your teeth.

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a good option to replace a missing tooth or teeth. At River Rock Dental, we provide our patients with dental bridges as an option to partial dentures or implants. The new tooth is held in place by two crowns and looks as natural and realistic as possible.

Root Canal Treatment

At River Rock Dental, we regularly perform root canal (or endodontic) treatment in order to remove infections and save our patients’ teeth. Root canals are a common procedure and are generally no more painful than doing a filling. When a tooth becomes infected through bacterial decay, that infection can spread into the center of the tooth, known as the dental pulp, which is made up of nerves, connective tissue, and blood vessels. That bacterial infection can cause inflammation and sometimes can be incredibly painful. Root canal treatment generally allows us to save teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted. Following the procedure, the tooth is sealed and restored with a crown allowing good function and a nice appearance.

Solea Laser

Solea is a powerful dental laser that allows us to do many fillings with no anesthetic. Solea is the first CO2 dental laser system that allows dental treatment for both teeth and gums including simple cavities, ginvigval contouring, and frenectomies. Soft tissue procedures are completed with less bleeding, faster healing, and a better result.

The many patient benefits of Solea include:
